What is TECH Night '09
TECHNight ‘09 is a fundraising reception to benefit the work of TECH CORPS. TECH CORPS is a national nonprofit organization that strives for a technologically literate society, a globally competitive workforce and an active and involved citizenry. TECH CORPS brings together students, teachers and community volunteers to ensure that all students get a technologically advanced education today to compete in the technology-driven workforce of tomorrow.
TECHNight ‘09 will introduce technology business and community leaders to TECH CORPS. Proceeds from this event support TECH CORPS’ effort to outreach more schools and youth-serving organizations and recruit and support technology-savvy volunteers.
Why is TECH Night '09 important?
Young people entering the information-based, technology-driven marketplace without the necessary technical skills will not only be unemployable, they will be irrelevant. The need for individual and private sector support of TECH CORPS mission has never been more critical. TECH CORPS’ challenge is to create the capacity to aggressively and systematically ensure all children have access to the technology programs, skills, and resources to enrich their education and allow them to compete successfully in the global and technology-rich workforce.
